Barnabas is served by many people who give up time and energy to take up leadership positions and serve the life of the Church.
We have three full time Elders, who have responsibility for the Church, serving our members and supporting our leadership teams.
Martin lives in Shrewsbury with his wife Jane and has three daughters, one is at home, two are married.
Martin trained as a teacher and returned to Shrewsbury in 1985 and soon became part of the leadership of Barnabas, becoming the lead elder in 1994. Martin oversees several key minstries in the Church and the teaching programme.
Martin plays a lot of squash, and is known for his love of cycling in all weathers. He also enjoys walking the hills of Shropshire and North Wales. He is an enthusiastic traveller, having lived in Pakistan and South Africa.
Terry was brought up in Shropshire and trained as an accountant. He became increasingly involved in the life of the Church and went part time to serve as Youth Worker in 1997.
Terry was then invited to become an Elder in Barnabas in 1999. He helps to oversee children, youth and Alpha amongst other things.
Terry serves within newfrontiers as an evangelist, visiting other churches to preach the gospel & pray for healing, and helping to oversee outreach events.
Terry lives in Shrewsbury with his wife Helen, and their two boys. He enjoys spending time with his family, and listening to his record collection on his vintage record player.
has lived in Shrewsbury since the age of 5 apart from 4 years away studying and working in Birmingham and Nottingham.
Dave studied business and management before coming back to Shrewsbury for a year project here at Barnabas. It was then that God opened a door for Dave to join our staff team as Church administrator, a role he served in for nearly six years, before his recent appointment as an elder.
Dave oversees our Midweek groups and the ministry of Barnabas Church Centre. He lives in Shrewsbury with his wife Esther, daughter Joy and their cat Bobby. Dave is a very keen football enthusiast and regular at Shrewsbury Town.
